The Department issues licenses and registrations to individuals working with our Department and/or within the construction trades in New York City.

SITE SAFETY MANAGER

A certified Site Safety Manager is required on new construction or demolition sites 15 stories and above or 10,000 square feet or greater.

NYC DOB Fees:

Exam Fee: $525
Registration Fee: $300
Renewal Fee: $150
Late Renewal Fee: $200.00*
Background Investigation Fee: $500
Registration Term: 3 Years

Renewal Fee: $50

Registration Term: 1 Year

CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

A registered Construction Superintendent is required at new buildings and buildings under demolition nine stories and below.

Registration Fee: $100
Renewal Fee: $50
Late Renewal Fee: $100
License Term: 3 Years

CONCRETE SAFETY MANAGER

A registered Construction Superintendent is required at new buildings and buildings under demolition nine stories and below.

A registered Concrete Safety Manager is required on major building construction projects that involve the placement of 2,000 cubic yards or more of concrete.

Registration Fee: $150
Renewal Fee: $100
Late Renewal Fee: $150
Registration Term: 3 Years

REINSTATING EXPIRED LICENSES

The Department reinstates licenses up to five years after expiration. After five years, you must complete the original requirements for the license – including fulfilling examination requirements and undergoing a background investigation.
